Get food
Come as you are. We're happy to help.
Everyone who lives in Alder Springs or the upper Clearwater valley can shop the pantry once a week. Here's everything you need to know before your first visit.
Your first visit
Bring proof of address
A photo ID, a utility bill, or any mail with your name and valley address. We note it once; after that, just tell us your name.
Choose your own groceries
We're a choice pantry: you shop the shelves with a volunteer, so you take home what your household actually eats.
Fresh when we have it
Produce, bread, eggs, and dairy depend on the week's donations. Tuesdays and Saturdays are usually best for fresh food.

Questions
Good to know
Do I need to prove my income?
No. Living in the valley is the only requirement. We never ask about income, employment, or immigration status.
How often can I come?
Once a week, at any session. If you're in a tight spot between visits, call us and we'll work something out.
Can someone pick up for me?
Yes. Send a note with your name and address, or call ahead, and a friend or family member can shop for you.
I can't get to the pantry. Can you deliver?
Our volunteer drivers deliver to homebound neighbors on Thursday afternoons. Call to get on the route.
Is there food for special diets?
We keep a shelf of gluten-free, low-sodium, and baby food. Ask the volunteer who's shopping with you.
